Deniliquin, Griffith

Deniliquin

Leaving Echuca we headed towards Griffith, but we had to check out Deniliquin, home of the annual ute muster

Again the weather wasn’t kind to free camping, the Griffith Willow Park Rest Area was full of large puddles. While we had struck no rain, it had been very wet a few days before. We made our way to the Griffith Tourist Park. It was nice and clean,  a little bit dated but very adequate for a short stay.

Hermits Cave, Griffith

A nice surprise in Griffith was the Hermits Cave in the hills overlooking the town. We had a walk around where a local made his home in and around the rocky outcrops with fantastic down over the town. Steps and old overgrown terraced gardens built into the edge of a steep cliff are hard to comprehend why someone would do this. The 3 photos do little to really show what it would have been like.
