Yeppoon Day 2

We woke up to another glorious day in Yeppoon and our plan for the day was just to relax and check out the coast line. The damage from Cyclone Marcia wasn’t obvious as an extensive cleanup campaign had been undertaken. Several beachfront parks and the local yacht club premises are still under repairs. Several rooftops are still covered in tarps but mostly Yeppoon is back to normal.

Rosslyn Bay Boat Harbour (Pier One)

We drove down the coastline to Rosslyn Bay and organised a trip to Great Keppel Island tommorrow. As the cruise leaves at 9.15am and we have to leave the caravan park, an early start will be needed in the morning. There is plenty of room for caravans at Pier One Marina and we will only have to go a further 10km to our next stop.

The Marina is full of large boats of all descriptions. There is also a row of town houses with their own jetty, it is nice to see how the other half live

We even come across a turtle feeding in the marina

To keep on the nature trail, while walking on the beach at low tide, the beach was covered with several burrowing

animals. Each one had pushed little balls of sand around their burrow. The whole beach was covered with them.
