Maryborough

We left Bucca this morning not really knowing where we would end up.

Travelling between Bucca and and Childers we come across a river that flooded in the last floods. The first picture shows us looking into the river and the steep bank up the other side. The second photo shows us looking back on the other bank. Take note of the debris at the top of the power pole. I would not like to guess how far above the normal water level the top of the power pole is.

We were passing by the Maryborough Showground, thought it would be a good place to stay, so we wheeled in off the highway and set up camp in a flat grassy area for the night and it was only lunch time.

Dianne had made a phone call and had arrange an afternoon with a friend from Tassie so everything fell place and a good afternoon was had by them, while I did all the work setting up (sounds good).

A quick look around town and there is lots of heritage buildings and plenty of parks with some unusual trees and plenty of scenery. We will make a return at a later date.
