We were on the road just after 9.00am. The rain was forecast to set in just after lunch. We arrived in Junee about 9.30am and nothing was open, so the Licorice and Chocolate factory missed out on some sales. It was quite a nice little town and we will have to return on a future trip.
We planned to just drive through Temora, but we were glad we stopped and checked out the Temora Rural Museum. It was jam packed with machinery and tractors.
An entire building was dedicated to ambulances of every vintage. Don Bradmans childhood house has been relocated there, as was a rock and mineral collection, an old schoolhouse, a church and no museum would be complete without a dentist chair. It is well worth a visit and one of the better ones we have visited.
An hour later we were back on the road and the weather was becoming gloomy. As we hit the Newell Hwy, just above West Wyalong, the drizzle was starting to get heavier. The last hour into Forbes was in reasonably heavy rain. We were thankful that there was plenty of flat sites, just drove in, dropped the stabiliser legs and we spent the rest of the day looking out the window at the constant rain.
