Bingara to Texas Qld

It rained overnight again and Dianne was ready to leave early this morning before the river broke its banks and had us stranded. Nothing to worry about but she wanted to get to Queensland and camp on the banks of another river, the Dumeresq, the border between NSW and Qld. We only had a short drive today, all of 163km but the road while sealed was very rough and travelling between 70-80km/h was plenty fast enough. Even the concrete flood crossings, were large dips and both sides had very rough sealed sections, probably the result of repeated flooding.

We  arrived early and the camping area was more than half full. The rain had cleared and we were set up before lunch. Plenty of friendly people about and a trip into town filled in the day.

I will play with this photo over time to make names readable

Texas is on the inland tourist route to far North Queensland and an alternate route for those who wish to avoid the Bruce Hwy.

A Landcruiser with a lazy axle was a must for a couple of photos.
