The weather is about to crack up, so the next two days will be spent travelling down the Hume Hwy to Melbourne with an overnight stop at Tarcutta. Leaving Lane Cove Caravan Park, it is only 5minutes and we are on the loop road through Sydney to reach the turnoff onto what becomes the Hume Hwy. 873km in total, with 421km to Tarcutta for our overnight stop and then 452km into Melbourne.
There was a fair bit of chat on the UHF that the southbound lanes were closed and that diversions were in place. We came acroos the accident near Yass and the road had just literally open as we came across it. Workers were just removing the witches hats in front of us. The same couldn’t be said for the B-double that had rolled over, but at least one lane was open and we could get through.
The trip from Tarcutta into Melbourne provided typically all 4 seasons in one type weather, but at least we didn’t get wet packing up in Tarcutta or unhooking i Melbourne.
