Queensland 2018

Our next holiday from Tasmania to sunny Queensland has been booked in early January for mid June. It is necessary to book 5 or 6 months in advance to get our preferred dates. We have six weeks again this year. This year three 5th wheelers were meant to be travelling together, this is the first time we will be travelling as a group. However  one of the group needed to go early and swapped for an earlier booking on the Spirit of Tasmania. We did however catch up with them for two days at the Lawnton Showground.

Our aim was to make our way to Echuca/Moama for a couple of days and wing it from there, although we do have a few ideas.

Below is a map of some places we have in mind before we head off and also the route we end up taking.

Our Trip Preliminary Plans

Our Actual Journey

Dianne and I travelled with fellow 5th wheelers, Phil and Sandra Cowmeadow. We did zig zag our way north this year, probably accounting for a few more kilometres. This was mainly showing each couple some areas that we liked on other trips. This brought back a few good memories from our previous trips and also highlighted what Phil and Sandra enjoyed on their previous trip. We also added a few new places that we had agreed on. Overall we had a very enjoyable time and have even put a few ideas together for next years trip.
