Queensland 2016

We have booked our sailing dates to and from Tasmania to the mainland for another trip to Queensland. Six weeks is not long enough to go too far, so we will make the most of the time we have.

Our aim is to take two weeks to get to Maryborough by June 30th, have 3 weeks relaxing around the Sunshine Coast, with a week in a coastal caravan park (probably Caloundra) and just relax. While we will be travelling on our own we hope to meet some fellow travellers and spend a few days with them.

Below is a map of some places we have in mind (feel free to add some suggestions in the comments box). It is a work in progress. Our planned trip for 2015 was very different from where we actually travelled

Our Trip Preliminary Plans

Four days in Maryborough with the “Crocodile Wheelers” in late June for the Mary Poppins Festival is all we have locked in. We had an enjoyable time with them at Bucca last year. Two or three days in Melbourne is planned as well on the way home.

Tocumwal, Bingara, the Jondaryan Woolsheds and maybe Murgon will be stops on the way up, although nothing is locked in.

Check out the link below for our actual trip, feel free to zoom in, click on the flags and check out a few comments. You can’t change any data.

Our Actual Journey

While we didn’t vary our plans greatly, we did alter our travels because of weather. We stayed 2 days in Wagga Wagga as there was bad weather above us. We then drove for a day and a half to get above a cell of very heavy rain.
