The trip across Bass Strait was uneventful and we both had a good nights sleep. We were the first passenger vehicle off the Spirit, we even had a call over the PA system to let us go down early.
It was still dark as we made our way out of Melbourne and the traffic was very busy, even though we were going against the flow of traffic heading to the city for work. We were also lucky that a major accident involving a truck and five cars, completely blocked the inbound lanes of the Western Ring Road and brought traffic to a complete standstill. Outbound traffic was a little slow but we made it out intact.
Out fo Melbourne we stopped for breakfast at the Bunker Hill Roadhouse near Donnybrook before heading to Shepparton to stock up on a few supplies from the SPC Ardmona Factory Sales outlet.
We were setup for our first night away at the Town Beach campsite in Tocumwal, a large flat site on the edge of the Murray River before lunch. A small charge of $5.00 per person per night for the privelege of being within walking distance to town was very acceptable.
A quick trip to a small blowhole just out of town helped fill in the afternoon. It is listed in Wikicamps, nothing exciting but if you are in the area, it is worth a look.
Enjoy your trip. We love Town Beach but did not know about the blow hole. Must check it out next time we are down there.

We always check the POI on Wikicamps to see what is about. It is not always Laundremats and water taps.
